In this issue of the Journal of Dynamics and Differential Equations and the next, we present a collection of articles as a Special Volume, called the Special volume on PASI 2005. The papers included in the Special Volume are related to the scientific activities at the Pan-American Advanced Studies Institute (PASI) on Differential Equations and Nonlinear Analysis, which took place in Santiago, Chile during January 10–21, 2005. About 170 participants, from over twenty countries and representing all countries on the two American continents, attended the PASI program. This event was a continuation and an extension of the bi-annual Americas Conference Series on Differential Equations and Nonlinear Analysis. The main goal of the Americas Conference Series has been, and remains, the promotion of research interactions among scientists from the American continents in the areas of the analytical and dynamical studies of evolutionary equations. This conference series, which started in 1994, has previously met in Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the United States, and Venezuela. |
